when you open up a community, you always have high hopes for it and you are always excited. you never really think about it closing, or dying at all, let alone so soon but it happens. we thought this comm would make it for a while at least, and that everybody else shared the same amount of enthusiasm and excitement that we did but it seems that isn't so. we thought that by introducing a large plot into the community would make the activity pick up and that everyone would like it, but apparently we were wrong. it seems that everyone can only keep their interest in rp long enough for one day, and it really takes out all desire to ever run a community ever again. maybe one day we'll open astounding back up again, but for now this seems like the best decision. a lack of interest means a lack of interest, and if you can't fix that then so be it.
